Caleb University is a private University located Imota, Lagos State, Nigeria. The history of the university can be dated back to 1986 when Dr Prince Oladega Adegbogun planted a nursery and primary school in the mainland of Lagos.
Caleb University came into existence following the approval of the federal government of Nigeria in the year 2007 which was sought after by the proprietor, Oladega Adegbogun. Academic activities and programmes commenced fully in the year 2008.
Currently, Caleb University offers over 16 undergraduate degree programmes and post graduate programmes across 4 colleges. Most of the University courses have been properly registered and accredited by the Nigerian universities commission (NUC) and other relevant bodies required.It has a mission to create a unique institution committed to the pursuit of academic innovation and excellence.
Dr Akintoye Akindele in fulfillment of his promise during the 11th convocation ceremony of the University presented a cheques of 5 million naira each to the best male student, best female student and best post graduate.
Iredia Ejehi from the computer science department with a CGPA of 4.92 was awarded the best female graduating student, Ifezue Humphrey also from the computer science department with CGPA of 4.84 was awarded the best make graduating student and Mrs Olufunsho Fasuyi.
Mr Akintoye Akindele also offered employment to the three of them and handed a cheque settling the school fees of 22 newly matriculated students of the prestigious University.
The philanthropist also disclosed his plans to build an information technology centre and an African History and Archaeology centre at the Imota main campus.
During his speech titled “The Rhetoric and Reality of Youths as Game Changers” he urged all Nigerians to emulate the best graduating students who were game changers.
According to him, a partnership will also be entered into with the school to build an Innovation Incubation Centre. “With an incubation center, the students can transform their ideas into reality, so that before they graduate, some of them are already entrepreneurs and business owners, creating jobs. With this, we will be marrying education with entrepreneurship and innovation,” he said.
